Should’ve stuck with the proven KKM. I love my RS, it’s an awesome gun to shoot. Never thought I’d say that about a Glock.

Not to threadjack, but I thought it would be better to piggyback onto a related thread rather than start a new for something I've been noodling and doodling on since college. How would you Roland-ize a 1911?

The basic concept I'm thinking of starts with:
    • Single-stack frame with dustcover 1913 rail--preferably from an 80% to stretch out and develop my machining and gunsmithing skills
    • 6" or 7" Longslide, radiused like a 5" to add muzzle weight (i.e., "stretched" behind the radius rather than in front like a normal L/S)
    • Optics cut, with suppressor-height blades for BUIS--I know Absolute co-witness is impossible, hoping or lower 1/3
    • Threaded barrel--not because of planning on a can, but or the extra 3/4" barrel length
    • Set up for either .45 Super/.450SMC or full-power 10mm ACP (original Dean Grennell spec, not current Minus-P)
    • Ambi safety and mag release
    • CMC Power 10 or similar ten-round magazines, unless any competition-grade long-tube 15-rounders turn up that meet reliability requirements

There are obviously more questions that I need to answer before this goes from a "concept" to something ready to start selecting parts and assembling a Build Sheet, so what all blanks do I need to fill in?

I would get a Wilson Carry Comp in 9mm and add an RDS and U-boat.
