That reticle tells me that they don't do much shooting past a couple hundred meters in a realistic environment.

The reticle is pretty typical these days for a LPV. I think they sort of gear it toward speed rather than long range precision. I think 3gun has had this effect.

Does anyone really shoot 5.56 past a couple hundred meters?

I know that you are a fan of the NF 1-4x. How is this reticle really any different?

I am not well versed in magnified optics or reticle designs, so pardon my ignorance.

Agreed. Many LPV reticles I've been looking at are quite similar.

I don't know guys.. When the company logo says made in America and in smaller print with imported parts. They have offices in Shanghai. The company's name used to be Pacific Rim Optical if that tells you anything. I don't really care where they are made but I do have a problem with the implication that they are made here. In the end I wouldn't spend that much for a LPV with NO track record. What happened to the 1X8 they used to make?

Yeah I can't find much about Kruger, or verify the USA origin, assembly, etc.

Yeah the whole scope is kind of a mystery with a sketchie pedigree at best. I've heard of Kruger, but don't know much about them. Not exactly a name that rolls off my tongue concerning scopes. "Hey guys, check out the new Kruger!!!"

I decided to purchase on out of interest and because of no info on it.

I was in the market for another Leupold VX-6 1-6, and a friend sent me link to this scope. It is more than the Leopold but I always like to try to new things.

My main interest in this scope is that it is carbon fiber, this will go on a gun with a carbon wrapped barrel and carbon hard guard so it fits the build. The reticle looked nice to me.

The big question is quality. I called Kruger, and got very little info from them. The had lifetime warranty which was reassuring. The glass was made in China and 'checked' in the USA. No info where other parts are made. The guy on the phone claimed glass quality on par with night force with out mentioning them by name. Grey Ghost precision seem to e an outfit that goes for real quality, so I don't think they would toss their logo on it if it was bad. But end of the day it is still made in China.

It arrives today, I will check it out and if it garbage right off the bat it is getting returned. If it seems decent I will mount it on my rifle. I have my Nightforce NXS 1-4 here and will be able to compare to them directly. My leupold VX6 is at my camp so I can't check it side by side.

I think its quite pricey for what at the end of the day is Chinese glass. The Carbon Fiber is what got me and only because of a build I am doing. Otherwise I would just grabbed another VX6 for 860$.

I'll report back with what I find.

When I saw the CF designation I was hopeful that it would set a new standard in low weight but at 14.4 ounces, it's still two ounces heavier than the VX-R Patrol I'm currently using. At least for my needs and expectations (best mix of light weight and overall quality in a LPV), even if it weighed the same as the Leupold the tiny bit of extra magnification range does not justify the 2X price.

A pioneer! Looking forward to your report. Also I didn't see the FOV at a hundy at 1X, could you let us know that spec when convenient?
