1 1/2 New Cans from SiCo: Omega 45k and ASR Saker cans

I am very excited about the Saker now being available on the ASR mounts and muzzle devices.

The Saker has always been available with an ASR mount.

They released one new can in this video. And they're now selling the 3 Saker variants with the ASR module as opposed to shipping them with the Trifecta MAAD module and having to replace the mounts and muzzle devices when the end users start complaining.

I got my 556 saker when it was new and was not given the ASR option, I have since switched.

That's what I came here to ask, is the saker really an improved version? Have changes been made?

It's interesting to note that my Saker 762 with ASR mount weighs 21.8 oz vs the "new" one being 23.4 oz. I don't think my baffles have lost nearly 2 oz of material even though it gets shot a ton.

And it's not the combined weight with a muzzle device, since those are about 4 oz, and SCO doesn't traditionally list weights with muzzle devices anyways.

And lastly, the noise reduction numbers are quite a bit lower on the "new" model. I seem to remember the 5.56mm muzzle average around 135 dB, and now they're claiming below 130 dB, which is impressive.

Prices are lower? I mean wasn't saker k like $850 from silencer shop when they had them? $770 MSRP means street price looking like I'm gonna pick one of those up.

Im curious how they reduced prices so much. A Saker K looks promising as long as I can Kymo it to match my Saker full size. I also saw no mention of the hoplon baffle system, which if thats a feature they did away with Im not sure how this is different than a modular Specwar.

Waaaaait a second. The specwar line is not on the silencerco website any longer. And the new saker asr line has very similar lengths/weights to the old specwar line. Hmmmmm?

    The SPECWAR is gone.

    It is a modular SPECWAR.

They picked the Saker name so as not to offend people who invested in those cans when they came out. Saker was dead as soon as the Omega came out.

Yeah I'm curious now. ESP about the length variance. If the 556k is really just a modified specwar k which I already have and is only 5.46 with direct thread and over 6 with qd mount, then thats not cool.
