If you find any Malaysian FMJ surplus ammunition, snap it up. It shot well under 2" at 300 yards out of my LAR-8 carbine. That was with the benefit of a 1 X 4 Bushnell Hog scope. Winchester M80 ball shot under 6" at 300 yards for comparison.

When you get some MEN, pull around apart and look the components over it has the best looking FMJ bullet I've ever seen. With a Labradar and my AI AX308 16" barrel I was getting an average of 2571 fps with the MEN, ES 44, SD 14.4 over 10 shots. For comparison 130gr SOST was 2592, ES 54 SD 20.

Also, I measured case capacity of the MEN & Hirt brass. I'd have to look up the exact numbers but I do remember the Hirt was nearly identical to Lapua and the MEN wasn't much different (for reloading purposes).

While not a KAC product, my LMT MWS loves Hirtenberger 146gr. It shoots really well. Prob about 1.5moa give or take and boringly easy to hit steel at 550 yds. Only downside is most of it is Berdan primed.

I found a pallet locally at PSA a while back and bought a couple cases. All that I have shot so far has been boxer primed. Date on the boxes is 08/83. I did notice the priming hole to be tight when reloading it though.

It depends on the year. I have a few cases dated 1975-79 and they are all berdan primed. It seems that 1980-81 or newer are boxer.
