The new Vortex is supposed to be around $1,200, I think.

I have been pondering a 1-8x. I have a 1-6.5x however, and would have to be really impressed to spend that much for an upgrade.

I do know someone here who is going to eval one, I'll send him a link to this thread.
Their MSRP is always way high. You have to remember that there is MSRP, MAP, Master Distributor, Distributor, Volume Dealer and then Dealer (I think).

I looked through this optic at shot. Glass is clear. Little bit bigger FOV so it more similar to a 2-10 type optic in size I think.

Is this assessment from viewing the scope outdoors, in full sun, or indoors at SHOT?

I have used this scope in a different power before. It is full sun viable and so will this one be.

It was one of the more magnified ones if I remember. With that said, I live in Ohio. The sun is for sure more intense in other states.

Thanks. I will probably buy one regardless. Daylight bright isn't the end all be all, just depends on the overall package.

I wish the battery life was longer. With the battery life on red dots increasing, I wonder why this one only has 31 hours run time..
