Update... the shroud on the Hard Headed Veterans helmet seems to be out of spec. Just got my NODs and the Wilcox G24 has some play in the HHV shroud. I have a Wilcox shroud on an Crye Nightcap and the lockup is solid. I will swap them until I hear back from HHV.

I had a Wilcox that had some play too. I try to always use the Wilcox mounts as matched sets now. But I'm super OCD.

I have some OCD as well. I don't like the play one bit. I wish the mount had a way to adjust to non spec shrouds.

What about DH132B CVC helmets? A buddy told me about a guy who gets them and retrofits them with rails and Wilcox NVG mounts, Ops Core suspension for 400

Very common with that type of helmet, more often than not the shrouds are out of spec on the chinese helmets.

If it locks but is a little sloppy you could jury rig it via a piece of sticky velcro on the inside of the shroud to mate up with a piece of sticky velcro on the backside of the mount. That's if it's just a little slop, may not work in all instances.

    Or change the shroud.

They are sending me out a new shroud for free. Can’t argue with the customer service.

RNVG with 22UA tubes (FOM: 2318/2326, SNR: 32.2/32.3, center resolution: 72 lp/mm, EBI: 0.1/0.2, halo 0.7/0.7, no blems other than very slight peppering)

4D Tactical Zero G DELUXE Retrofit Combat Liner
    TNVC Mohawk MK2 Gen 2
    Spiritus System Lid Snake
    NVI Battery Battle Pack
    CORE Survival HEL-STAR 6 HS-620-03

Without the 4D Pads, I was definitely getting a bit of a hot spot at the very top of my head, albeit a mild one that didn't get worse once it started.

I'm not sure about the large TW lead weight; I had pulled it from the TW counterweight kit (so leaving 1 lb in the rest of the kit, put it on my Exfil SAR Tactical), and it's a mild improvement for when the NODs are on, but when they're off, it's definitely wonky weight distribution. The suspension on the FAST SF is good enough that I might just take the weight back out.

Note that the FRS specifically uses a swivel design rather than a flip design; this is due to the fact that the flip designs will wear out eventually and come open by themselves when there's overpressure, such as when doing explosive breaching.

That’s a badass setup. I’ve tried and been displeased with two helmets, the Fast SF is definitely the one I want but that thing is a lot of money.

If you or anyone else is interested, PM me, I know of a discount code for Ops Core when ordering directly from them (good for anything on the site, everything Ops Core in that pic I used the code on). Down side is you'll have a lengthy wait, but they do not charge until they ship.

Wake, didn’t you have a Crye airframe? What was it about that helmet that you didn’t like?
