    $1500 for new rifle

So I've lurked around here for awhile now and gathered a lot of good info. I have narrowed down my list of possible buys considerably due to this site so many thanks for all the info i have soaked up. I had a negotiation with my wife a few nights ago and she has agreed to allocate up to $1500 for a new rifle. This will be primarily for home defense. I found a new colt 6720 for right at $900 and i think that will be the route i take for the rifle. my question is what additional accessories would be recommended for this rifle and its roll. I already have about 20 mags mostly pmag or troy battle mags (not my first AR ) Ammo i have but you can never have enough. So i would like to hear everyone's thoughts on what to grab with whats left of the budget after the rifle purchase. This is costing me several months of back log with Honey do's and massages so lets make it count! Thanks!

Optic (aimpoint pro's can be had for sub $400 regularly)
Sling (pick your poison for about $50)
Light (streamlight has several that will fit in your remaining budget)

Any other small accoutrements can exchanged as desired later (i.e. Without your wife knowing).

I have heard good things about the PRO so i will check them out. I have seen a few of them New for for about $385. I'll check out streamliight's page and look at what i can fit in. Could you recommend a mount that will work with the standard hand guard? Eventually i may add a rail but have no plans in the immediate future. Thanks for the reply!

Blue Force Gear Vickers VCAS sling. $55

Impact Weapons TMC (Top Mount Cantilever) 1" light mount. Works with the factory Colt handguard. $60

Surefire G2X Tactical (320 lumen) single output light. $63 w/ free shipping.

Aimpoint PRO (Patrol Rifle Optic) $437 w/ free shipping.

If you could spend a little more, I'd probably snag an Aimpoint H1 used for an additional $20-$60 to get a little more use out of the 6720's light weight. Perfect HD setup.

Most of these can be found cheaper as well if you shop around, but these prices still aren't bad and in all it puts you right at $1515.

If I had to start all over, had your budget, and the CCU was available at the time I was getting into my first rifle, I'd get this hands down.

From there, the rest of this thread picks it up. Get some good BUIS, an optic, a sling, and a white light. I'd add the Gen2 Inforce WML or WMLx to the list of lights suggested.

This mount is useful to put the light at the 12 o'clock position. https://www.botach.com/kley-zion-ar1...actical-light/
There are other manufacturers as well but I believe they are hard to come by. Of course to use this type of mount, the light has to have the proper interface...

Use SlickGuns to get the best prices, the lowest price I see right now is $1161.

My recommendation is to go with a Colt 6920 and you will have money left for a good optic and a sling and some additional magazines..

After dealing with G&R Tactical, I'd spend the extra $30 and get it from them
