Career advice - what would you do?

Good luck with the new career! My wife, who was 41 at the time, switched career 3 years ago to something she always wanted to do. Took a huge pay cut but is now making progress and is happier than she has ever been.

I resigned from my job yesterday to pursue a career in federal law enforcement. My firm said “Come back any time, we will welcome you with open arms” which made the decision that much easier.

Congrats. You've just moved out of one of life's most difficult categories...the "I guess I'll never know" category.

Don't even know you, but from listening to you and applying my life experience to that, whether or not it works out...you made the right choice.
