Waiting to place my order lol. Does anyone know the part number on a GI M4's UID? I know colts cage code, just need the part number.

It's been a while since I've been issued one so I couldn't remember if there was a part # or it just listed the nomenclature.

Lucky #13. Didn't think I'd want more than one or two, but...

I just confirmed the part number is 12972700. If you're looking to make a clone M4 out of a 6920, that's the number you want. Go to 14:56 of the video. That's when he starts talking about UID. If you zoom in at the right time, you can read 12972700 on his clone.

You will want to fact check me, but the NSN you listed is for the M4 not the M4A1. The part number for the NSN you listed is 9390000. For the M4A1 and for our purposes with the 6920, the part number is 12972700.

These are Colt part numbers. FN and all the others will have different part numbers.

Too soon to start talking placement? There appears to be no rhyme or reason as to how these are placed on the mag well. I'd surmise that some lower ranking kid in an armory thinking about Suzie and going home who just got tasked with sticking a few hundred or more of these on would care much and close would be good enough. I also could not find guidance in any FM or TM.

For what we're doing, it appears the norm would be almost centered on the mag well or at least low enough so the UID can be read with the ejection port cover open. What do you think?

It also does not seem to matter if you get a rectangle or smaller square UID as shown in the video I posted. Most .gov issued seem to be the rectangle.

Thank you. That's what I was looking for was the M4 part #. I was not issued an A1. I'm doing a repro of my issued gun from my first deployment.

I want to remind everyone when you receive you tags, please clean your firearm with rubbing alcohol in the area of placement. Once attached and pressed on for a few seconds it will be on there very, very well. So make sure that you have it placed where you want it.

The NSN is the same for the SOCOM variants of the M4A1, I assume?
