    T1/T2 Mounts

For years, it seems Larue has been the go-to mount for Aimpoint Micros on hard-use or work rifles, and just wanted to see if that's still the case. Is anyone using any of the other modern mounts from Kinetic DG, Scalarworks, etc on hard-use rifles?

Went from all LaRue to Geissele.

    The Geissele mounts are fantastic.

*I would personally love to see Geissele sell the correct height shim for an EOTech G33 with factory mount to work with their 1.93" Aimpoint mount.

Larue has never been the "go to brand" for any optic mount except in certain internet forum political circles.

I would look at mounts made from one piece of metal; meaning the base and riser are machined from one solid block of material.

Midwest Industries, ADM, Geissele all make mounts like this.

I have switched to all Geissele and Bobro mounts. I especially like the Bobro tall mount at 1.70. Its a great overall height. I also bought one of the new geissele 1.90 mounts to try out. I like the heads up shooting position with the micros.

Scalar works, Bobro and Geissele are our preferred mounts.

I've used Bobro and Scalarworks. Both were good but the latter is much smaller and lighter so it is definitely my preferred. Neither of them lined up with my G33 though, which has the riser to work with my EXPS-3 on my other AR so lower 1/3 definitely isn't one standard. I knew that was the case with the Bobro but didn't realize it was true for the Scalarworks as well so I was bummed there when I learned it the hard way.

I had to remove the lower 1/3 spacer to line up the G33 w/ Geissele lower 1/3 mount. Works great.

I use Scalarworks and Larue and aside from mounting them to the rifle and weight, I can see no difference in performance.

My Bobro micro mount is lower 1/3rd and it lines up perfectly with the G33 w/o spacer like your Geissele 1/3 mount does, I am pretty sure the same is true with Scalarworks lower 1/3rd.
Do you shoot nose to charging handle? I don't (maybe I should) and I have issues with the eye relief of the G33, especially if it is in front of BUIS. I am hoping Aimpoints new military magnifiers are a little better in this regard, the 6x is long enough I don't think it would matter much, and the 3x is said to have about .5" longer eye relief. I wonder how the twist mounts will line up with the lower 1/3rd and 1.93" micro mounts?

You're a fan of the 1.93" mounts, esp. with NVG. I watched the RB1 Knight's video, Falla has a good pitch. In the video he mentioned his forthcoming mount with magnifier riser being 3-3.5" height over bore? His is much taller than the 1.93" Geissele, no? Is the 1.93" HOB or height above top rail?
