    Outdoor Range Near Metro Atlanta?

I am looking for a recommendation on an outdoor rifle range near Metro Atlanta.

    Anyone?

I was a member out at South River Gun Club until it expired 6 days ago. Pricey, but they have a 300 yard range and numerous pits you can move/shoot in.

Off exit 82 on I-20, so it's a little clip out of the city. I live in Cobb County and it was roughly 45 minutes to get there for me.

South River, Floyd County Sportsman club. Riverbend.

There are a couple of good ones down 85 toward Columbus.

And dnr ranges, though typically only 50-100 yards

Hard to find 200 yda and up in metro Atlanta.

I've been going to Georgia WMAs for outdoor shooting for a few years now. Kinda boring compared to South River, but the WMA fee is only a few $, or you can get an annual pass for a few $ more.

Its a bit of a drive for you but Gun Site Hill has an 800 yard range that is a really nice place to shoot. Chief -- the owner is a good guy and very knowledgable. Its very low key and seems to attract reasonable people

Floyd County Sportsman Club is one of my favorites if you're on the northwest side of Atlanta. But it's still a trek.

Riverbend is the other option, but it's very expensive, much more so than the others. But offers a lot of stuff.

Unfortunately ALL RIFLE ranges at South River Gun Club are closed indefinitely. Long story.

The other OUTDOOR ranges around Atlanta are approximately 50 miles or more from downtown, your actual distance may vary according to where you live. The following ranges require membership:

Cherokee Gun Club in Gainesville off I-985.

River Bend Gun Club near the Big Canoe/Dawsonville area - off GA 400.

Pickens County Gun Club north of Jasper, GA.

Creekside Firing Range near Taylorsville/Cartersville, GA does not require annual membership.

Others have named a few options.

Riots are like sports, it's better to watch it on TV at home.
