What have you done to your AR(s) today?

[One More Time]

Today, I zero’d my BRT 16” stainless steel barrel with a Leupold VX-R Patrol Firedot 3-9x after putting the Magpul bipod back on it. IMI 77gr RazorCore. 50yd zero, looked about right at 100 and grouped at an inch with a sub-par shooter; the modded Centurion AST absolutely helped. Super fun to get out and use the gun.

It came functioning improperly. Sent it in, Marty machined it and actually made it better than it would have been stock. Then I cut down the disconnector spring a bit, which lightened it. There is a thread that includes instructions on that from, I think @sinister, and I also posted images of how much I took off. It’s important to remember that it’s just a mother Schmid two stage, so that can be done to any of them.

Also, full transparency, it still isn’t as smooth as my Tricon or SSA. But I’m keeping it on this gun, because it is light. I wouldn’t hesitate to get another AST at under $100. Going over $160, Geissele is noticeably better. So whatever is important and if you like to tinker.

Ah, gotcha.
I have the AST in two rifles and don't think I'll fiddle with them, pretty smooth as is with a clean 4lb break.
I may drop a Hiperfire in one but have another handguard in mind first.

Sadly, with WA's impending ban on AR parts I'm on hold until either the courts nuke it or the Chinese nuke Seattle.

Guess it's time to pivot back to 1911's and build enough to arm the entire neighborhood while I wait...
