Bought and installed some magpul self leveling followers for 4 new Colt USGI 30rd magazines I just got. That yellow plastic follower is slick as snot.

I put the original mil spec polymer hand guard, with the two heat shields, back on. I am tired of burning hands. I was able to graft the Arisaka finger stop on a bottom hole with the used of a spare mlock screw. The USGI sling went back on too as the cool, trick, expensive sling hardware failed twice in one outing. An Elzetta weapon light mount went on. I feel more secure with this set up---as much of a rant as it is a report.

Another pic as I fight with that big Umbrella "billboard"... C8 left, M4 right--diss the anti-walk FCG pins all you like, but I've found them to add a convenient lubrication port. Still working on color-filling the Umbrella Corp. engravings. Oh, to have the fine motor skill of a quarter century ago in my model-building days...

Wanting to shoot a match so I replaced the flash hider with a 2 port brake and put in an H2 (16in middy) to soften and flatten the recoil impulse a bit. This is my go to gun so I Will probably revert it all back after I get a few matches out of my system.
Test-joined the BCM upper and Umbrella lower. My smith swapped the A2 flash hider on this week too--Dave had an interesting time with the Simon Sleeve. These will probably be the last update pics for this build until the green furniture goes on.

Shot my new AR6951. See review in pistol caliber AR section.
Mounted new optic.
Nothing.
But I read and posted more than is natural on this forum.
Me to LOL! It keeps me off the streets, though!
Last night I reloaded, as in stuffed mags. I have four fat 50 ammo cans that hold 28 mags each plus a dozen or so random mags I keep in a cardboard box. My little el-Cheapo CAA loader and my thumb and forefinger uploaded 2,000 rounds throughout the evening while I listened to Pandora. I still have several empty mags, but ran out of ammo.
I'm a little concerned about the two ETS mags I have, they were harder to load using the loader, and I noticed when loaded to 28 - all my 'canned' mags are loaded to 28 - the feed lips appeared to bulge out, yet they inserted and locked in okay when I checked. Not interested enough to actually measure but I'll keep an eye on them. I have about a dozen plastic mags, everything else is USGI aluminum - Brownell's and PSA making up the majority.
