Interested to hear your results with this, I've never used one.

I do remember hearing a long time ago (can't remember where...), and this was regarding UMP45 coupled mags. That you would typically strip off the first round of the 2nd mag.

Kind of makes sense, wonder if a Redi-mag would be a better option? Or is there enough room inside if that where the same thing would happen?

From my experience, Redi-mag is gtg. Just adds weight.

I have the coupler from brownells which replaces the base plates on a pmag

It works and spare mags top round remains in place.

Is this the one you are referring to?

Loaded both mags to 30 and the top round on the spare mag worked loose with bullet on cartridge forward. This was after I fired through first mag with triple taps as fast as I could.

I downloaded to 28 rounds in spare mag...no issues.

I figure, what the heck, I still have 58 rounds on the rifle. And if I decide to double up with my PMAG 40 rouders, I'll be satisfied with 89 rounds. If I had a "pew-pew-pew" switch I'd appreciate this even more, I'm sure. But I find it is pretty easy to blow through a mag with hammered pairs, and triple-taps.

Got a new puppy yesterday so I can’t grab it at the moment. Here’s pics I found online of what I have. It was made by Springer Precision for Brownells...or that’s what my google foo tells me.

Took my wife to the range to shoot her new G44 and to run some rifle drills to show her how much better the pinned 13.7 handled than the 16 inch barrel it replaced. 'Whatever.' She passed on using the VFG correctly saying 'I'm not going to shoot my finger off you.....' (such language from a Sunday school teacher).

Had fun, went to eat Mexican afterwards, she paid.
