I’ve been swapping out my co-witnessed mounts for slightly taller 1/3 co-witness mounts on my 5.56 NATO CQB guns. All LaRue LT660-VFZ mounts. As time and $$$ permit, also swapping out the old Aimpoint Micro T1 with much better Miicro T2’s.

I have a nice and quite accurate LWRC 16” that I’ve been changing optics back and forth. Trijicon 4x32 LED ACOG and a Leupold Mark 4 1.5-5x20mm illuminated. Both are great and having hard time which setup I want to keep......

My youngest but adult son and I took his unfired 16" PSA Freedom Midlength to the range to zero the MBUS/FSB sights and give him a chance to shoot it. We shot 90 rounds, no bobbles or issues. "Irons" are zeroed at 50 yards with M193 now.

Was pleasantly suprised to see it stack fired cases up in a neat pile at 4 o'clock. I know ejection pattern is not really indicative of much, but it's nice. I only shot maybe 20 rounds, trigger (EPT) is OK and it shoots fairly softly.

I swapped in a H buffer when I got the gun and then gave it to him right when the ammo panic hit. He hadn't shot it before today.

Nice to hit the range with my son and the weather was beautiful.

    Sorted through the spare parts.

Took an MRO off the Reptilia mount, anticipating the Scalarworks coming in the mail...

Took note that the Alamo Four Star lower 1/3 mount is noticeably higher than Reptilia’s. Noticeable. Hence my moving the Reptilia along to the market soon.

Case prep. Not much fun but necessary.

Swapped a Ruger AR 556 lower over to a PSA "M4" marked lower on my oldest Son's carbine. I installed a BCM carbine receiver extension and parts from a Joe Bob Outfitter LPK (but re-used the FCG/selector) on the stripped lower.

Zero functional difference, but I didn't really care for the Ruger lower. I will use it on a dedicated 22 lr or sell it so it doesn't grow into another AR.
