Board policy mandates I state that I shoot for BCM. I have also done work for 200 or so manufacturers within the firearm community. I am prior service, a full time LEO, firearm instructor, armorer, TL, martial arts instructor, and all around good guy.
I also shoot and write for various publications. Let me know if you know cool secrets or have toys worthy of an article...

Late post for yesterday:
Test fired 9mm build. I need to buy more ammo to see what works best.
Slapped this together for a buddy today.

Death hangs over thee: whilst yet thou livest, whilst thou mayest, be good.
Because not all of us have insider connections... (Besides, if it works out as I hope it will and the weight-and-balance mockup suggests, once finished the current "Mk 18 Mod Briefcase" build should fill the Home D/"1911 inadequate but 16" carbine too unwieldy" spot on my dance card adequately for me to stand between the invalid rels and any would-be home invader with.) Since you said it "out-Mk 18's the Mk 18," if things progress beyond an entry in my Conceptual Builds spreadsheet I'm stuck between fighting with justifying budget for a single-use tool and going with the URX II "alternate configuration" URG allegedly used by West Coast SEALs or just trying to find out the barrel specs and just build a 12.5 pistol around milspec barrel and BCG... I think you mighta mentioned a Centurion quad as not-quite-but-similar once, so I've been looking at their catalog for ideas too.
Stick, here's a brainteaser for ya as an owner: If you were designing a 12.5" URG for the same set of mission requirements but taking advantage of today's technologies, and were using only cash-and-carry COTS components, which handguard would you use? My first rookie guess would probably still be a quad because trying to mount an M203 or M320 on Keymod or M-Lok rails adds another point of failure... (While I have no need of a GL and am not outdoorsy to even use a flare for signaling, and won't be going into suppressors unless HPA passes, as noted when I do a build I like to try to stick as close to proven mil-issue setups as I can and do just enough adapting to fit my needs.)
That Noveske/Centurion pistol build's pretty slick, BTW. 8.5"?

Ever tried an Indian Creek BFD, and if so how's the ASR compare for performance? Between light sensitivity and builds oriented for indoor-CQB, I've been looking at blast deflectors as "poor man's suppressor stand-ins" but haven't really been able to find any comparative performance data.
