    An old bike inner tube and a pair of scissors will make dozens of covers better than most you can buy.

    That is an excellent idea! I just have a thing for clever, McGuyver-like solutions. Gotta' think thru how I would cut for easy on & off.

    I just cut them straight about 2" wide. Trick is to find a tube that is just big enough without being too tight. Motorcycle shops are a good source. The trash cans are full of old tubes. Very few people patch street bike tubes.

    But you also need to cut a relief oval in the bottom, to allow it to go on & off, or? A couple pics would be appreciated if get the time.

    I interpret what he said as the tube goes "around" the RDS, in a manner like if you places a plastic cup over it ...

    Thanks, that would work well for storage. I'm going to see if I can get a bit fancier with it.
