    147gr. 9mm Special K

Does anyone have experience using 147gr. 9mm Special K ammo? I have a Trident 9 inbound and I am wondering what the best 9mm sub ammo is to use. I will be running it through a G17 and 9mmAR w/ 5” barrel.

    This is what I use...

    147gr WinWhiteBox
    AE 147gr
    Ranger 147gr

All ammo listed above stays subsonic on a Glock 19 outfitted with an EVO-9. I mostly shoot WWB 147gr because it is easy to find. Any local gunshop should have any of the three available.

I have not shot Special K, I see no reason to... The above work like a charm...

I've heard that the AE 147gr is quieter than the WWB 147gr. when shot useing a can? But the Special K is the way to go? I guess I will find out this weekend when I try them all and post a full report of my findings.

The AE vs WWB... Its hard to say...

They both sound good. If there is a difference in between the two, it is VERY minimal, and I have perfect hearing throughout the spectrum.

I would like to try some Special K, I would like to hear what the hype is all about. Currently, I am satisfied on what I hear on the factory 147s.

Special K is ok for plinking but it is the only centerfire ammo I have experienced problems with. I was shooting and felt a light recoil and heard less noise, and I saw a round impact into the ground in front of the target. I will buy Win or UMC for plinking and would suggest WIN RA9T for actual use.

What Robert says + you will find Special K gives inconsistent accuracy out of short barrels like a G17 due to its slower burning powder.
