Got a Facebook message from JDI that the sig 551 pistols are assembled. They are being engraved and test fired before leaving Switzerland. If you ever wanted a real Swiss 551, with diopters, now is the time. Should have mine in 2 weeks. So given that this is the gun industry... and its the Swiss, probably a month. Short term plan: folding m4 adapter and a sb tactical brace. Form 1 afterwards.

I was hoping for a detachable flash suppressor. Just for the practicality of it but I'll take what I can get.

I want an optic rail model. I have lots of diopter sight 55x and a few rail models. I prefer the rail and would like to do a rail model 551 sbr with a 1-4 or 1-6x optic. I have B&T pic rail mounts on all my diopter 55x, but I just prefer a welded optic rail.

All that said, I'm glad JDI is bringing these in.

I saw the new pictures, kinda bummed the barrel still has that integral flash hider. I might get one, I don't know. Only 50 for sale though. Could buy plenty of other stuff for $3230, but then nothing else comes close to that Swiss craftsmanship and quality either. And it's just plain cool having a firearm with the Swiss Crest on it (other than a K31 that is).

Hey josh. Figures you would be along. I am thinking I will throw a Steiner 1-4 on the 551 using the b&t scope rail. Having a hard time picturing it. Does the scope extend over the diopter? If so do you need the cheak piece for the stock? What QD mount would you use.

Optic will likely extend over the diopter. As for mount, probably Geissele. And I think you will need the cheek piece.
