Gas piston conversions. I've never been on a two way range, but from everything I have read or heard from people who mechanically understand guns, a gas piston will not prevent your rifle from double feeding. Someone had one on his Bushmaster (I don't hate them like other people do.) and he was insisting it prevented double feeds.
"It will not crack, chip, fatigue or break, providing a durable, reliable piece of hardware and one less thing to worry about.”
Has anyone ever cracked, chipped or broken a pistol grip? All the youtube/gun forum torture "tests" and I've never seen a cracked, chipped or broken pistol grip. I'm sure there is some individual in the world who broke his pistol grip but who really worries about this? It's literally never crossed my mind. Do they also worry about their flash hider shattering?
This marketing angle makes no sense to me.
ETA: Put me on the list of A2 grip haters also.

I'm late as hell to this party...
Outlander's Hate List:
Magpul BAD.
Aftermarket stocks.
Aftermarket pistol grips.
Keymod anything.
Any optic not made by Aimpoint, EOTech, Trijicon, or Elcan.
ARs without FSBs.
Generally speaking, for me personally:
Seeing BAD Lever induced malfunctions.
Aftermarket furniture offers no legitimate functional enhancement over a standard A2 grip and waffle stock. At all.
Keymod doesn't do anything a 1913 rail can't.
Cheap Optics are cheap for a reason. If someone wants a cheap optic, the EOTech 512 and Aimpoint PRO are both bargained priced.
FSBs don't snap off.
I've come to appreciate simplicity a lot more. I'm cool with a rack-grade stick and a couple of steel targets at this point.
A basic-bitch 6920 with a light and RDS will get it the **** done for about 90% of the shooting population. 6920s suck for picture threads, but do what needs doing for everything else.
You and I agree so completely that I could have written your post, except that I don't think I've ever seen anyone use the BAD lever.
I'll also add: I love the standard A2 pistol grip. Normally I'm the guy that cusses finger grooves and whatnot, but for my hand the hump on that grip is in absolutely the perfect spot. I never had any ambition to trade the pistol grip for anything else.
I've seen a couple of aftermarket grips split or break during hard use, though.
So I guess I'd have to add aftermarket pistol grips to my "useless" category.
