I can't understand why that didn't take off, it is endorsed by the American Academy of Orthodontists and Maxillary Surgeons.

Years ago (over 20) someone advocated placing the police shotgun on your sternum, I believe Caliber Press was pimping the technique for a while during their Street Survival Seminar.

They should have made it with a mouth guard for positive retention.

After dropping about $8k in the last year and a half on dental work I say no ****ing thank you.

Haven't heard that one. I did run into a guy who advocated running a subgun or M4 with the stock jammed in that place on the principle that it was faster to shoot that way. Never really got an explanation as to how you were supposed to aim.

Phosphated BCG's...oil sucking, sticky POS's. my NiB from FZ, WMD and spikes have been flawless thru 1000's or rounds each. my nitrided AXTS BCG is also reaching the 1000 mark and oil hangs around so much better and seems to suspend the crap instead of caking like the phosphated garbage.

    embrace modern technology.

I wouldn't be so quick to discount parked BCG's. Any finish is just a top layer over the base component(s). The base components are the main concern. While I do like some coatings better than others, some require the base(s) to be different to be better suited to the application of that coating. As an example, park is soft and sacrificial, hard chrome is dense and wear resistant. A parked BCG may not require as much detail as the hard chromed one as a base part before the coatings are applied. The process(es) for the base and/or coating are key. Not just the coating by itself. There's a lot of parked BCG's in circulation doing well.

A lot of the superslick coatings work great for what they are designed for. Oil retention is not one of them.

Are you shooting at targets at the range in pitch darkness?
Reaching for an AR in a home defesne situation rather than a shotgun or pistol?

The post asked what accessories are not really needed for an AR, and for the vast majority of civilian shooters, I can't imagine a scenario where you would need an AR WITH a flashlight
I recently wondered why I did not visit AR GD anymore. Now I remember.

I could go over the Box of Truth, actual ballistics, why target ID is important, etc etc, but I would simply be preaching to both deaf ears and the choir.

    ANYWAYS,

I hate seeing cheap optics/lasers/lights. NCSTAR, Primary Arms, etc. Get the junk on an airsoft rifle where it belongs.
