The Colt monolith has zero possibility for rail movement causing IR laser shift due to it being a monolith.

It has more gas block clearance than the LMT system.

Problem is, IIRC before Colt acquired Diemaco they had some kind of "no-compete" clause in the license for the TDP. Between that and 922R, as I understand it Diemacos are only allowed to enter the country on LE purchase contracts and only when Colt US allows.

What happens to them after the cops are done is Anything Goes, but as far as entering the US... and I'm not an industry insider and don't know the whole story so take this with a grain of salt. Maybe Scott can fill in some of the blanks a little better.

I have inquired about this from various people and can never get a straight answer about Colt Canada products. I don't know more than that.

I don't pretend to know the details of the AU MR223 thing, but I know HK-Oberndorf had no say in the matter. Again, just guessing some importer found an exporter to play ball or something. Just saying if MR223's and Swiss Sans are possible with they were once impossible...

In about 2006, I bought a Colt 6920 through an individual officer sales program. The gun that showed up was stamped “Colt” and also stamped, “Made in Canada”.

I thought I might be getting ripped off by the vender so I called Colt. I was told that Colt had bought Diemaco. Colt imported Canadian made 6920’s at times to offset supplying product to orders. But I should have not received that gun as the Canadian made guns were supposed to go to agency orders and US made guns were supposed to go to individual Officer sales.

The only difference between the Canadian made 6920 and a US made 6920 was how they marked the barrels. US made guns were stamped with twist rate and Canadian made guns used a dot laser etching. And I was told that the Canadian made guns used a CHF barrel. Great shooting rifle. I only put about 300 rounds through it though. Been sitting in the back of the safe ever since.

Why they can’t at least replicate a MRR stateside is beyond me. It’s really a shame. We can import B&T stuff as pistols, SP5’s but not a MRR. I guess the domestic AR makers would prefer it that way.
