Best mid-priced 3-9 for the AR

If you look around gun broker or some of the other discount sites you can find trijicon accupower 3-9's for $500 I saw one site for $480

Here is the leupold VXR patrol, not a bad little scope for the money.

Assuming the turrets are like on the 1.25-4x Patrol, they are way to easy to get knocked off zero from brushing against stuff. I have reduced, but not eliminated, this issue by putting some thick heat shrink wrap on them to make the aggressive and grabby checkering slick.

On a 3-9x the SPR reticle may be ok for dialing elevation but it is not so great on the 1.25-4x and the reticle dots do not really allow being used as a practical drop compensator as advertised due to spacing.
