Otherwise you could look at complete guns:
    - CMMG Banshee
    - Kalashnikov KP-9
    - CZ Scorpion EVO
    - Sig Sauer MPX

Of these, the Kalashnikov, Sig and CZ are going to have readily available folding/retracting stock options.

I almost forgot Extar EP-9 I have one because I couldn't not get for $450, mine runs well and hasn't shown any real wear in the first 1000 rounds.
Thanks again for your help! Here's what I finally put together as "best Not Garbage but still budget build" reco:
Upper $297 plus tax, free shipping, with code MEMDAY - https://www.opticsplanet.com/fm-prod...-diffuser.html
Lower $225 plus tax and shipping to FFL - https://www.primaryarms.com/foxtrot-...r-fm9-lwr-prer
Brace $100 plus tax, free shipping IF you can tolerate FDE - https://www.deguns.net/sb-tactical-f...2-sba3-02-sb/p

Final total - $622 plus [WA sales, around 10%] tax, shipping on lower and FFL transfer fee.

Good call on the Foxtrot Mike. I have a CMMG Banshee and bought my dad a FM9, and while I like the CMMG, I dont know that it is twice as nice as the FM - suck just runs. No malfunctions, with or without can, 3 or 4 different 115 and 124 grain ammo, as well as some 147gr subs from American Eagle and some remans from LAX ammunition.

I'll follow up with what she says... personally, not my bag as I don't use 9mm or Glocks; once I finish building up the Preban Mag Stash and then get the barrels for my Charger Convertible I'm debating between an ASDW or an "Ersatz GL/SSC," or back to concentrating on the .45 Super longslide 1911 I started doodling in college.

I'm in a budget and bandwidth slowdown trying to get some issues with the old house resolved--30 years of blackberry overgrowth and mom vetoing EVERY contractor quote--and then the problem is finding a suitable handguard in the 11"-12" length range; everything close to the 12" class requires an increase to a 13.7" barrel, and at that rate I'm not gaining any real "handiness" improvement over a plain 14.5 M4. If I could find a pinned CAR-length FSB 13.7, I'd be looking at either a Centurion Pocket or Midwest MI-20XG2 as a "stand-in RIS".

ASDW has a better chance of going forward simply because I know I can get all the components to BUILD the damn thing, and where... even have a group-buy project in mind if I can find an engraver, a finish close to a specific shade of gray used by USAF Air Defense Command and enough alumni of Grandpa's old squadron are interested. (Idea here is a "something old something new" tribute build, ASDW's engraved with ADC and squadron crests and finished in the markings of the old F-106s these guys wrenched on or flew.)

I feel your pain. Clearing blackberries is awful grunt labor. When you get to the point where they are 12-15' tall, you aren't dealing with your usual thorny weeds. You might do better renting a skid steer with a bucket and plow it all down, then burn them in a few weeks. I know that is what I should have done. Instead, it was working on the dumb end of the shovel and finding out there was poison oak or ivy mixed in with everything.

Sounds interesting with the ASDW, I should get ahold of MI and see what those crazy kids are doing.

Damn things are only about as tall as I am, but really nasty interlocking and practically fill the "bowling lane" side yard between house and fence, and have ivy mixed in with 'em. An hour hacking a day leaves me more worn out than a double at the keyboard... but if Her Peevishness won't sign the checks to hire a pro it's what's gotta be done.

Would love mechanized equipment but most of the yard is septic drainfield and won't support the weight.

Hmmm.. re "Faux GL/SSC" if I slip a Witt SME under the handguard it looks kinda like a can, and might help offset the extra 3/4" of HG length safely. Thought of this because I just got an email about 20% off on 'em this weekend... link when I get back to the laptop after slogging through the grocery run. Unfortunately, that means Fuggedaboutit for defending the house or apartment unless I'm engaging from outside or firing out a window...
