I would probably skip armor before wearing steel plates... poly and hybrids are where its at.

In a way that might make them good for teaching, "experience the suck of the early 2010s." Not state of the art by any stretch... right now the CIRAS weighs 11lb with only seven empty mags, TQ, headlight and IFAK, and these'll add another 17, but at this point the primary threat profile is "trouble coming to me" not "me on patrol looking for it."
