It's not recommended by many on this forum. There are multiple threads as to why. If you are looking at the price point, Centurion Arms is selling for that price. If you like coated bolt carrier groups, Sionics NP3 is a good choice.

From what I've read the A5 isn't too picky, so I'm not sure there's any ONE weight that is "correct". That said, I have just shy of 1k rounds through my 16" BCM middy with the A5-2 and a Springco green. The buffer is technically a -3 that I converted to -2. I may "tune" it someday to a -1 or -3, but honestly I'm not high speed enough to notice a significant difference yet. I just went with the -2 because that's the OG A5 weight.

*ETA* If your question was more general and not A5 specific, then I can say my rifle previously had zero problems with the standard H buffer and carbine spring, and it also ran perfectly with an H2 and a Sprinco blue (I tried the latter combo for a couple hundred rounds just for shits and giggles, not because of any problem with the original H setup)

I should have clarified; I was speaking about the A5 setup, specifically.

I have 2x A5 setups with the 'standard' (at the time) A5H0 buffer, and agree that setup certainly doesn't seem "picky" (cycles everything). I may try a A5H2 for my next purchase.
