    The Maxim Brace utilizing the proprietary buffer tube, buffer, and spring would buy me just under 1.5". From measurements I've seen I feel comfortable to go ahead and start sourcing parts for the build.

    This is one good application for an alternative caliber.

    A 300BLK with 7.5-9" opens up a lot of possibilities.

    Why not just use a 9mm pistol caliber carbine? 300 useless with subs is about what a 9mm is except very pricey.

    I've debated building a .300 with a shorter barrel for this application due to what I've read about it's performance in shorter barrels. I would be using supersonics that would deliver more energy as I really am in search of a rifle caliber pistol.
