    Barrel for mini recce

Need a 10.5” 556 or 223 Wylde barrel for a suppressed mini recce build. Must have a .750 gas block journal and I don’t like government profile. What do I get?

It has to be a 10.5 and not an 11.5 or 12.5? The DD 10.3 barrel will give you moa performance. If you want to get a little bit more maybe look into a v7 weapon systems 10.5 stainless match.

Yeah, I’m hung up on 10.5. I’m only shooting up to 500 yards. I really want the can to sit flush with the new Geissele Federal rail I bought for Black Friday.

I also would recommend a 11.5 or 12.5 for this type of platform. Not to mention the potential better reliability.

That said, what is your accuracy requirement? Are you looking for sub MOA or are you ok with 1.5 MOA?

Accuracy wise I want sub MOA at 100. Beyond that I just want to hit steel. Eventually it will wear a 1-6.

In that case I’d go stainless and my recommendation would be Noveske based on my experience with their SS barrels.

I do like those. I actually have a 14.5 Afghan that shoots real well.

Exactly. Only problem is I may have to sell that barrel (500 rounds through it) to fund the 10.5. Kids are expensive.

If you want it flush with that 9.3” rail, you need a 10” barrel. Sage Dynamics was showing off a SMOS 10.5 barrel at 300yds a while back. Great barrels if you can find one.
