We buried Bauer almost three months ago. He was 13. He developed skin cancer that was involved with the skull and eventually started affecting his eyes. Hardest thing I've ever had to do.

The special ones are really unique. I've commented to my wife that I think the good Lord placed angels inside a few of our dogs, because they have been wonderful beyond words.

Our new 10 month old yellow lab Aleck (because he's really smart). He is turning into a great companion after only two weeks.

    Livin' the dream!

A true "Gun Guy" (or gal) should have familiarity and a modicum of proficiency with most all firearms platforms.

I’ll admit that as I age I have little patience for bratty kids and bratty dogs. My lifestyle precludes me from being a good pet owner so I no longer have a dog. Against my advice my son and his wife picked up an Australian Shepherd pup. He’s 6 months old now and I’ve NEVER been around a better natured and trainable pup. I struggle for the right word to describe him.. he’s just amazingly respectful. You only have to tell him once to stop doing something and he gets it. We were replacing the windshield in my semi yesterday and he just had to check it out. First he just jumped up on the tire, then when I went into the cab he hopped up onto the valve cover. His confidence level is off the chart for a dog if his age.

Another pic of our Aleck. Was pretty anxious at first but is turning into a great companion! He'll be one year old in 10 days.
