Those of you who bought one of the PA State Police trade-in 6520's:

You can Google the serial number and a PDF comes up showing where in Pennsylvania it was issued.

I can't give you a link because it forces you to download the file and then do the CTRL F to search for your serial number.

    Do this:

In Google, type in the full serial number with no spaces, e.g. LGC046621 (not my serial number).

The Google search turns up one and only one result.

Download the file and open it, then do CTRL F and put in your serial number.

It goes right to the page where your serial number is, showing the Troop, Bureau, Station, and Location.

Mine was issued to Troop 'B' in Belle Vernon.

    Enjoy.

Its pretty neat to scan down the list, some of them were assigned to units stationed at the different casinos and other odd one carbine units.

Here's a guy on TOS who evidently actually handled these on the job. He has some interesting insights:

BTW, Colt finally answered my email and mine was made in 2009. According the the guy on TOS, mine was most likely only lightly used.

I noticed the main wear on my rifle was on the charging handle: probably from clearing the weapon before and after every shift.
