Can a Zenith Z-43P (HK93 clone) be made 922R compliant?

I just picked up this Zenith Z-43P chambered in 5.56x45.

I can install a pistol brace and call it done. However, it would be much cooler to have it with an HK retractable buttstock installed, especially considering the short barrel. From what I've read I need to install seven US parts if I convert it to a rifle. I found the trigger group linked below which counts for five parts, but there's no hole for the pin. I honestly don't know much about the HK93 design, so I don't know how I'd overcome that.

Even if that trigger group can somehow be made to work, I still need two more US parts. The flash hider is obvious, but I'm still one short. Suggestions?

I think that trigger group is for HK semi-shelves. Not the pinned in lowers as found on Zenith. You can go trigger pack; box, hammer, trigger, sear. Then cocking handle. Flash hider. Then maybe handguard. Or you might be able to use that that housing but it would have to be modified more than likely.

Cocking handle? I don't see that on the parts count list.

I'd like to keep the handguard because it's nice and slim.

I wonder if the US followers would work in the Zenith magazines.

That list also needs muzzle attachment and magazine floor plate added to it.

On the MP5/MP5K side of the house, if you put in the comments its for a Zenith they send a different housing (push pin). I would call or email HKParts and see if they can do the same for the Z-43P.

PS - Nice buy BTW. How are those things to shoot? Its never been on my list of 5.56 rifles but not a bad way to get into a 12" 5.56.

Brace that thing and don't look back. 93 collapsible stocks are spendy. Personally I'd spend that on an optic or more ammunition.

It should accept most any pushpin trigger housing without modification. There are a few US ones around, but most of them look a bit cheap. US made magazines are low hanging fruit, but I haven't used them, I'm not sure if they work.

I bought the spendy collapsing stock for mine, but I put the fat hand guard on it. It's a cool setup.

Due to ambiguity, it may be work writing a letter to get clarification if 922r applies to NFA items.

I didn’t see anything definitive saying if it does or not. The verbiage suggest it does apply, but the intent suggest it does not (since NFA is not beholden to sporting clause as I understand). Perhaps someone could clarify that as well.

Unfortunately ATF’s current stance is that 922(r) does indeed apply to title-2 firearms. I personally believe they are wrong, but I comply because I’m not interested in being convicted of a felony.
