    Which Fixed 6x?

    Which Fixed 6x?

Working on a Recce build and decided on a build with Fixed 6x and Red Dot on an offset mount for the Lightest Set Up instead of LPVO

Looking at the Leupold FX2 6x33 at 10oz but not sure about durability etc

Any other suggestions for a fixed 6X scope?

    Sub $500-600

I went with a Leupold fixed 6X on a .308 “ranch” bolt gun.
    Reasoning as you- weight consideration.
Went with their Ballistic reticle which keys to my .308 load of 150 Accubonds.
It has endured a lot of abuse in the rack of the Ranger and has held up- no problems.

The rifles at the ranch, I’m not.
I may have photos- will post if I can find something.
Certainly less than 500 rds (predator control/general purpose Bolt gun).
It has seen a fair share of abuse, most as a loaner gun to some “non gun” buds.
    The gun has maintained zero.
    Rings/mounts are Talley.

    Found something.

    Here's box:

    And stick:

Rifle is an 84M Kimber and was a purpose build. With the fixed 6X I felt no need to go 30mm tube. The entire concept was lightweight, "stalking rifle".
Historically a fixed power scope is alleged to be more robust than a variable.
Weight with scope/rings is 6 3/4 lbs. Barrel was floated forward the lug, action bedded, 2.5# trigger.
Shoots 3/4 MOA with handload of 150 gr, Accubonds.

The scope/rifle has to be 15 yrs. old and still works as day one.

With LPVOs coming in around 17oz nowadays, would a fixed 6x with mount and a red dot offset on another mount provide any real weight savings?

    Tough to argue this.
I went with a 1-6X Accupoint (mil reticle) on a 16” SPR build.

One that fits the bill except the price point is a ACOG ta55...Not quite 6x, but super clear glass and built like a tank. I run it on my SCAR heavy.

The op wants to save weight. The TA55 is a heavy weight at 25oz. Many LPVO are lighter than that. I love ACOGs but the 5x and 6x models do not make much sense.
