Bill said it's in 260 Rem and will be released this summer. He did not mention 7.62 or 6.5

Yup. Watched the whole 1.5hr ish video. Bill mentioned the current rifle was a Gen 1 built in 60 days. They had to iron out some changes and create the gen 2, before release and estimated summer. I believe the main reason is its currently a 12 pound rifles with the Vortex HD Gen2, and they wanted to bring it down to about 10lbs.

    Interesting.

I dont need one but it looks slick it does.

I agree that SOCOM profile would have been better.

For what you get, not bad

There will be a bunch of DD rails that group and ranger regiment won't need once they field all of the new geissele uppers so I don't think it's out of the question in a few years for those to go to regular army units.

Looks remarkably similar to the Faxon Streamline MLOK handguard.....

I could see the value of this upper if they offered it with their enhanced BCG and a barrel profile that makes sense. I’ve found KAC SR 15 MLOK Mod 2 uppers for $200 more that include their BUIS.

I hope they one day offer this upper with some of their enhanced components and a SOCOM profile 14.5” barrel. I’d definitely pick it up then.

I would buy a rail right now but the stripped version with a rail, milspec receiver, and barrel is $1000. That's insane. It's a good looking rail but I can't do it at that price.

Of course it looks similar, how many ways can you develop an MLOK rail... round, kinda roundish, and less roundish?

Almost everyone is making a rail that doesn't involve timing the barrel nut, which reduces the look options even more.
