Really doesn’t scream credibility. There were several notifications systems that didn’t pick it up, if it was a secret squirrel tin foil hat attempt at forcing Trump to start a war, why wouldn’t they have ensured that it get the most initial shock and awe possible?

we are talking about a state where the McDonalds ads tell kids to skip school get breakfast at McDonald's and go surfing instead!

Hawaii said they are going to start up nuclear alert stuff in Dec so I can see them making a mistake testing especially human error it is the islands

also not sure a AF guy in Hickam is going to be over in the DoD building that HI-EMA is out of ?

so does not add up at all

could even be a order do a test and wrong button and a OH NO moment but as a setup ? I have a hard time buying it with the leaks in Washington if a call was made others would have known and the press would be all over Trump etc..

"Go to Hawaii" they said... "It's safe and fun" they said... Well, their Emergency Broadcast system works.. scary 45 minutes! This went to our phones. Was also on all radio stations.

No shelters, no natural water sources, sirens did not go off, hotel had no clue about what to do.

A few minutes into the alert I realized they would have targeted Honolulu due to the fleet and population, so we relaxed a bit. And thinking shifted to fallout, etc as we are on the big island quite a bit away.

I was determined to finish my Kona coffee while simultaneously trying to decide whether to fill the bathtub with water or have my daughter get in it and cover it with a mattress.

Once past the initial "blood runs cold" moment, we were pretty calm, trying to decide whether the hall was better than our room for shelter etc. No basement, no shelters, no where to go. Not much you can do.

Really rattled some of the locals, crying, etc. My son was about to go diving, and the captain decided might as well head on out.

It's been an eventful day, got to see lava eruptions right at dark.

Think about it: it went out over every cellphone, even visitors. So that means it went via the cell towers. Now everyone these days has a cellphone, to include the people running the "test". So that means even they received the message that it was not a drill, yet it took like 34 minutes before a retraction message was sent. You think the people running it got the same "erroneous" text and didn't instantly say "Oh shit! Gotta fix this NOW"? Another message correcting it could have been sent out just as quick, yet it took 34 minutes? Nah, methinks this was a real-life drill to see what happened.
They may have been in a secure room, so didn’t have their cell phones on them. I have to put mine in a little locker outside of my office due to the SIPR computer.
