As MM said, thanks--did it have the same play you'd expect from a Commercial stock on a Milspec tube, or was it a bit better?
You really have to ask why Conservatives have guns? Because Liberals block freeways, burn cities, throw Molotov cocktails, loot, turn over cop cars, and think this behavior is Socially Acceptable.

The sad part is, the only thing worth talking about from this years SHOT SHOW are some retro clones. No real innovation, just make more 9mm and pistol length ARs so bubba can feel like a commando.

It's funny you said that. Since I figured out that it's unlikely that I'll shoot any new handgun better than I shoot my polymer80 G19 build, I have only had passing interest in any new handguns coming out. Very few of the newer rifles are catching my attention, too. I had more fun building my retro-ish carbine a couple of years ago than I've had with any 'modern' build - http://www.militarymorons.com/weapon...ccess6.html#xm

Starting with that retro build, I've found my interests going backwards in time - I pick up my newest handgun tomorrow, which is a sharp deviation from my normal buying habits: a Taylor's & Co. Smoke Wagon with 4.75" barrel: http://www.taylorsfirearms.com/the-smoke-wagon.html (sorry for any thread drift). I'm also eyeing this Taylor's 1873 Winchester rifle repro...http://www.taylorsfirearms.com/long-...18-357mag.html

Just when I thought I was done buying guns :sigh:

Really looking forward to these or more to the point getting parts to build one
a few years ago I put together a M16A4 clone and currently getting parts to put togather a M4 clone
I also have a kinda M16A2 RRA match service rifle
I also have a M40 clone done up like it was in Vietnam so a M16A1 would be a nice addition

That new "Tactical Thompson"? OMG, what a fracking abomination... like an AR knocked up a TSMG and nine months later out popped that heap of crap.

If I wanted a .45 AR, I'd just buy a .45 AR... and one that uses standard Glock or 1911 mags, not some proprietary pain in the ass.

Mind you, I'm a Thompson FAN, and I'm saying this...

6 Pages and No DM SLYDER!? (MrGunsngear)

This boogie aint jiving that, homeboy.

MrGunsngear was part of a huge promotion with Brownells for these.

Excited to get his input in here once SHOT is over and he is free to make comment.

Oddball example for ya: I'm an academic sort with the career goal of becoming a History professor, and since I believe in hands-on learning one of my build goals is a jiggered-to-fail-sometimes-and-work-others A1, so I can give my students the chance to endure some of the SUCK of the Vietnam experience firsthand, albeit with none of the danger. Rebarreling and regassing the Brownells A1 might be a good head-start on the Jamomatic...

Yeah, I'm an odd duck and maybe fat-boy nerd has no business trying to share the playground with the cool kids, but I'm past the point where I really care anymore.
I want to take one of your history classes and go on that field trip.
