Thanks--I hope someday we both get the chance. Lunch will be a combination of new-production period-recipe field rations and current-issue MRE's... (Thinking hands on assignments like comparing and contrasting the opposing service weapons, or comparing what was issued then to what's issued now... and a side of tabletop wargaming since it's not like you can give a student their own tank platoon or destroyer division to command for an hour.)
You really have to ask why Conservatives have guns? Because Liberals block freeways, burn cities, throw Molotov cocktails, loot, turn over cop cars, and think this behavior is Socially Acceptable.

Sweet - can anyone confirm if the production ones will have a metal stock?

Update about the stocks. I talked to the guys at the booth and current production will be a plastic stock until they can source metal stocks for their production rifles.

Brownells’s Instagram posts about these rifles make for some entertainment. Lots of bitchning and gnashing of teeth that they don’t have 1/7 twists or use modern styled parts.

Clearly not the audience these were meant for.

Precisely--these are history lessons in metal, not frontline duty.

The commercial didn't help. They got Chocolate Love and Rollergirl from Boogie Nights but that would only be appropriate if they were selling nickel .38s..

What Brownells SHOULD have done was got a bumcha guys in sweaty OG-107s with their rifles slung and a dumbass 2LT and a disfigured PSG walking along the treeline with the retro kit while CCR's "Have you ever seen the rain?" plays.

Or maybe a LRRP team in ERDL snaking about in the boonies with CAR-15s. While The Doors plays.

And for the AR-10s a buncha Latino guys in WWII camo on a boat heading to the coast as Walk Dont Run by the Ventures plays.

They couldnt print enough money nor make enough guns if they did that.

I want people to SMELL the Lucky Strikes, bug juice, and salt water. FEEL the humidity and rain. The ache of a PRC-25 and the skeeters. TASTE the Ham and Mothers, nuc mam and phô. HEAR the F you lizards.

Not this Boogie Nights crap. These guns werent Boogie Nights era.

    This was the SIXTIES maaaan.
    This was 'Nam, maaaaaan.

People should wanna buy these guns and shoot them and come home to lukewarm red kool aid and C-rats and crackers.

    You weren't there maaaaaaaan.

    You weren't there......

Fly, man, if I get my classroom and end up teaching Nam history (my aim is WWII, but in Mil History on civilian campuses one takes what one can get) you gotta come and guest lecture...

And yeah, C-rats and bug-juice for snacks in class. (Sorry, no nuc mam or pho; I'm allergic to fish.)
