This class is designed for the new or inexperienced owner of the AR-1`5 style semi-auto rifle. Consisting of a half-day classroom, and a half day on the live fire range, the class will cover: nomenclature, cycle of operation, and field stripping of these firearms. Basic fundamentals will be practiced in class, to include stance, grip, loading and unloading, and sighting. Iron sights and “red dots” will be discussed and demonstrated.

Second half of the day will consist of live fire drills while standing, seated and prone. Basic malfunction clearances will be practiced, as well as emergency reloads and magazine exchanges.

Some rental rifles available, with prior notice. Small fee applies.

Students will need own eye and ear protection, brimmed hat, weather and field condition appropriate clothing, rifle and 2-3 magazines (unless using CDT rental), sling, and approximately 300 rounds of .223 or 5.56×45 ammunition, depending on their firearm.
