makes sense. get a complete BCM, then slowly source parts for an entire Colt M4 (or as close as you can get to it)

What would your suggestion be? The Mid 16 or REECE 14/16? The rifle would be used as a range gun and for any personal/family defense that was necessary.

I'd choose the REECE for the rail system it comes with.

And a lot of people will tell you not to get a pinned muzzle device (REECE 14), but if you know you'll never change the comp that 1" is nice... I have a pinned BCM Jack and don't mind it

Thanks, I'll definitely take that into consideration as I continue reading, reading and reading.

Oops, just noticed I've been spelling it wrong lol. RECCE*

My favorite setup is a BCM Recce 14. That's my recommendation.

Same answer I always have... Buy a complete BCM lower from Grant configured how you want it. Buy an assembled upper from BCM with the barrel, charging handle, muzzle device and handguard you want. I tell the story about my first AR... When I finished making it into what I wanted there was NOTHING left of the original rifle!! Nothing! Not a single piece of the original rifle remained. By buying like I suggest lets you get what you want from the get go and not end up with a frankingun. If I couldn't get BCM Daniel Defence would be my second choice.

My first rifle was a Noveske N4 light basic. It's pretty much an m4 type configuration. They're a bit more expensive than the 6920. Well, about twice the price, to tell the truth.

Mine was a well built, accurate firearm, and I had no complaints, other than that I found I preferred a slim rail and a 16" barrel over the m4 configuration, but that's personal preference.

I'm not sure how I'd want it configured and that's partially why I'm leaning towards a complete rifle for my first one, but I see what you're saying, but I'm not sure I'd do much besides add optics. At least for awhile. PS, who/what is Grant?

I've been looking at some Noveske's, but I'm just not a fan of that basic handguard. I'm not sure why, I just don't like it lol.
