    Precision riflery sites of interest

A couple quick reviews by yours truly-- if you're into or getting into precision of any kind, these guys are maybe a little outside the "mainstream precision shooting knowledge base" but well worth a look and listen in my opinion. Any other suggestions, keep the thread rolling!

Dan Newberry's site and vids are of interest. Dan's style is down-home and accessible. In Dan's way of doing things you don't need the $3000 tactical rifle with another $800 worth of custom barrel and $3200 in optics and mounts. He gets guys to push the limit with regular guns and gear, and usually the limit is further out than it was thought to be. Dan is also a handloading guru / consultant who champions the OCW method of load development, which helps identify where the barrel is in its harmonic movement as the bullet exits the muzzle. If you can get that to happen at the end of a movement instead of in the middle, consistency goes way up and your rig will be way less sensitive to variables like a few tenths of a grain dif in charge weight, different brand or lot of cases, etc.

Ryan Cleckner's humble and conversational style is an effective conduit for his considerable knowledge of precision shooting. He has an impressive background which includes time as a Ranger (1/75) sniper and instructor. I've been playing his podcasts during my daily Email routine instead of Humble Pie and such.... he's that good :-)

BTW today is your deadline for joining / donating to the NRA. Like them or not they are what's between us and being criminalized for doing what we like, what is legal, what is constitutionally protected. It takes about two minutes to donate:

Any discussion on the last point should not be in this thread but there is this one:

Something else by Ryan Cleckner I just ran across, he has penned a children's book about gun safety. I ahve not looked at it at all and don't have a need at this time but in case of interest to anyone:

Dan is relatively local to me. He and his son are good people, very knowledgeable, and are talented shooters.
