Since you have the item and I ASSume you cannot return it since it is installed, check to see if adjustement screw has detents. If not, you have wasted your money. If yes, then follow typical
protocol for adjusting: gently screw in the adjusting screw untill it is bottomed out, unscrew 2 clicks out, usually a quarter to a half turn per click, load a mag with 1 round of weakest ammo you are likely to use and chamber that round. Fire, see carbine locks back
on empty mag. Most likely not, so turn adjustment screw counter clockwise 1 click and repeat the above, until rifle locks back on empty. Might take up to 8 or 9 clicks out from fully closed/screwed in. Unscrew 1 more click for insurance of adequate gas for dirty
weapon or cold weather and call it good.
Googled BRO adjustable gas block, look at pages 29-30 https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/08...16_Low_Res.pdf

Hope it works out for you, if not then its a lesson in impulse buying, as compared to doing research first. Know nothing about BRO, but lots of respected ones, such as SLR, Seekins, JP etc.

Hi, no detents that I can tell so I guess I may have wasted my money. May wind up having to replace it later on due to health issues I don't put in a lot of shooting time any more. Thanks!

To the OP, don't worry about your purchase.

Black Rain Ordnance and Syrac Ordnance adjustable gas blocks appear to be identical, and Syrac probably made them for Black Rain... Syrac is now out of business. That being said, Syrac seems to have had a decent reputation when they were still in business. You need to use a 5/64 allen wrench, and may need to get a long one if your gas block is way under the rail.

Here's some videos on how to use your gas block, including a video by Syrac Ordnance themselves.

Additionally, here are the instructions from their old web site:

How do I adjust the Gas Block?
Adjustment is simple, turn your gas screw all the way to the closed position. Then open the gas one and a half turns from the closed position. Load only one round in the magazine while tuning the gas. Fire one round and check if you get a full lock back on your bolt carrier. If not then open the gas port screw one or two clicks at a time. Normally I would do two clicks at a time till I get full lock back. After getting a full lock back then open two clicks more, this will give you reliability while using different loads of ammo.

Thanks for the links, I contacted Black Rain Ordnance and they sent me a long allen wrench to adjust it with when my weather clears up I'm going to see about adjusting it. Thanks again!

That gas block will serve you well, and as others have stated, don’t use thread locker
