I have sold off and gotten rid of most every other LPV I owned. I have NF Unimount and a Badger Ordinance Mount I’m not using because the Geiselle are SO good. As far as which scope I like better.....hard to say....I see them as different. I know you’re saying “how can 2 FFP 1-8’s be different?” They are. The NX8 excels due to it’s smaller size, weight, footprint is not much bigger than an Aimpoint Comp M4 or an Aimpoint Pro. It weighs 17oz. It’s nuclear bright, I can’t find much I don’t like. The ATACR is basically a Precision Rifle optic shrunk down to a 1-8. I seriously see it as an ATACR 4-16 just smaller. The reticle is crazy good, the illumination is bright, all perfect.
The difference comes in the fact that it’s quite a bit bigger. I see the ATACR as a DMR scope. Very well suited to a precision 5.56 gun or a DMR on a 7.62 gasser. Whereas the NX8 is a fast paced, run and gun, even an AWESOME 3Gun scope. The glass in the NX8 is VERY usable, great edge to edge, no “fisheye” at the lower end. The ATACR....forget it.....that scope is really there with a S&B Short Dot, a Minox, above a Leupold MK6. It’s a tier 1, top shelf piece of glass.

Which one if I could only have one......hmmmmm.....BOTH. :-)
Thanks for the feedback - I'm going to buy one of these in the next couple of months - I just need to decide what rifle it's going to go on which I think will drive which optic it's going to be.

For my use and price point, it'll probably but the NX-8, but we'll see.

Both great scopes. We just sold NX8's to a SWAT team in a large California county. They loved the ATACR, but bang for the buck, chose the NX8, and they are thrilled as shit. Put them into the Nightforce Unimount high for semi auto 308s.

I think I agree. Bang for the buck....the NX8 is INCREDIBLE. Had I not played with the ATACR, I could be more than happy with the NX8. The NX8 is on my “everyday” gun. My back and forth to work gun, my “truck” gun is rocking my NX8.

Yeah, I have the NX8 about 1/2 funded, so hopefully Aug-Sept I can buy and have it setup after the weather finally breaks down here in the South.

An ATACR would be sweet but another grand might not be in the budget.

How is NX8 1x eyebox and flatness vs mk6?

My take is that the Mk6 is more forgiving in the eyebox than the NX8. The NX8 is a riflescope that happens to have a true 1x. The 1x is better than Leupold's. However, Leupold Mk6, Vortex Razor HD Gen II, Leupold Mark 8, and Steiner M6xi are all better at point and shoot than the NX8. The ATACR, however, is in a league of its own.

Ouch. The MK8 is better up close? In what way.

That Spuhr mount looks nice but I can't see myself spending that much on a mount if there are other viable options for half that.

Check alignment. I did the Bobro thing, but they didn't make my cut. When I laid the tube in the bottom of the rings and then lightly tightened the top caps to where there was slight friction when rotating the scope in the rings by hand, it definitely "dragged", and upon removing it I could see it was not laying evenly in the rings. Bobro bolts their stuff togather. Some of it's perfect. Some of it's not. That's my opinion.
