So the concept of border security which predates the Third Reich by almost ten thousand years is now the same as herding people into boxcars and sending them to a fate of systematic democide.

    WINNING:

    https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-...l-force-border

President Trump's chief of staff John Kelly signed a memo late Tuesday allowing troops stationed at the border to act in a law enforcement capacity and use lethal force, if necessary, according to Tara Copp of Military Times.

The new “Cabinet order” was signed by White House Chief of Staff John Kelly, not President Donald Trump. It allows “Department of Defense military personnel” to “perform those military protective activities that the Secretary of Defense determines are reasonably necessary” to protect border agents, including “a show or use of force (including lethal force, where necessary), crowd control, temporary detention. and cursory search.”

    ...

Kelly said in the signed directive that the additional authorities were necessary because “credible evidence and intelligence” have indicated that the thousands of migrants who have now made their way to the U.S. checkpoint near Tijuana, Mexico, “may prompt incidents of violence and disorder” that could threaten border officials. -Military Times

People were rightly up in arms with the Patriot Act 15 years ago. The legal opinion behind a use-of-force/ROE from the White House will be deeply examined, even if dropped right before a holiday.

The ACLU and other groups are likely filing their briefs tonight in D.C. district court for a stay. The timing is sure to aggravate the Court and likely not reinforce the Administration’s position.

This case is different. This is not a law enforcement issue. This is an invasion by an outside force, even though the MSM has tried to portray it as a harmless migration of economic refugees and all that happy horseshit. In reality it's an incursion by people who may themselves be violent, or who may be harboring terrorists from the Middle East.

I suspect you're correct in that the shit storm of counter legal actions has just been provoked, but in the interests of national security I believe Trump is within his authority to quell an invasion by what is a (supposedly as yet) unarmed foreign "army".

If a sovereign nation cannot use it's military to protect it's borders from incursions and or invasions then WTF is the point of nationhood exactly?

Posse commitatus doesn’t apply when enforcing the border. Use troops as policemen in the cities? Yes. Keep foreigners from illegally entering the country? That’s what the military is for. We guard everyone else’s borders. Now time to guard ours.

    As for ROE...
    S. Self defense
    H. Hostile act
    O. On order of the Regimental commander or higher
    P. Prevent illegal capture of citizens by foreign agents.

Maybe you should look up the basis of the law before you claim it's a pillar of freedom.

We're generally pretty spoiled as Americans. You're seeing the Military being used to protect our borders, they tend to need to do that sort of stuff domestically when you're being invaded.
