PDQ bolt release compatible with M&P 15/22???

Knowing that I have to cut or modify the receiver to install it, is there any reason I can't use a PDQ bolt release on an M&P 15/22? Is the bolt release on an M&P 15/22 generally compatible with the regular AR?

I know it's an old thread, but no one answered.

It will not work with the 15-22. The bolt catch is a proprietary part. No one makes an aftermarket replacement for the 15-22 bolt catch.
