Smith and Wesson Reintroduces The Model 19!

Apparently they’ve done it. Two piece barrel, lock, and I hear, the new crane ball lock. Still, it looks nice.

A couple of years ago I picked up a police trade-in 19-3 that had been rode hard and put away wet. So I sent it in to Smith to be reconditioned and then off to Ford’s for their “master blue” job. By then it was just too pretty to take out and shoot (dumb).

So maybe I need to get one of the new ones and put a cylinder line on it...sure could do worse.

Same! Didn't care for the new 66 either. Prefer my 66 no dash from the early 70s

I have a 4" and a 2.5" Model 19, both with pinned and recessed barrels. They are worth hunting for.

And that ungodly safety lock on the side reminds me of someone painting the Mona Lisa, but with a prison tattoo on her cheek.

I also don't care for frame mounted firing pins, they should be in the hammer where they belong.

My 4" 19-3 with Osage grips I modified.
Not much can beat a well broken in/tuned "K" frame double action.

One of the dumbest firearms things I have done (there have been many) was sell my outstanding 4" P&R 19-3 that had factory target grips, hammer and trigger as I wanted to consolidate to semi-auto, Dumb, just plain dumb!

Buy another p&r 19 or 66 that is shooter grade so you won't feel bad about using it for its intended purpose.

    Gaijin, that's a good looking 4 inch.
