I'm not a benchrest/comp shooter, so that aspect of precision I'll let someone more qualified to answer, however I'll share some thoughts on shooting for precision at long range.
My own experience has shown DD barrels to be easily among the leaders for most accurate CL barrels I've shot. Combine that with a mid powered variable optic, Geissele trigger, Atlas or Harris type bipod, and your already great DD FF rail...and bingo, you got a rifle that will allow to learn how to read wind, dope your rifle/scope for long range targets, and learn the fundamentals of LR shooting technique, hopefully prone.
The above rifle with a nice 600-800yd range with various different .223/5.56 loadings is the perfect instrument to start your endeavor into longer range shooting. As you go along, stay at the same 600-800yd ranges, but stop using the 77gr. OTM/75gr. HPBT rounds, and challenge yourself even further by using 50-60gr VMax loaded projectiles which helps hone your wind reading abilities even more. Also, all this allows you to see first hand the magic of long range ballistics (mirages/bullet trace/bullet glint if your lucky/bang.........ding/etc) which is huge in my experience to fully understanding what's all in play.
With the proper Indian, I'd guess your barrel is a 1.25-1.50 moa shooter across a multiple 10rd group eval. With the perfect hand load, it might even achieve close to MOA.
