Side Sling Swivel for Colt 6951?

    All-

I've got side sling swivels on both of my primary 5.56 guns for consistency. I'd like to add one to my 6951 9mm carbine so it is configured the same for training.

This is the Colt Tactical Sling Mount, Front that I use on my other guns.

Since the 6951 has a pencil barrel and is .625" at the front sight base, this will not work. Is there anything similar for a .625" barrel?

I've seen the FSB mounted ones and that MAY be an option but I'd like to get closer if I can.

That might do the trick! M16A1's are .625" at the FSB! But $70 for surplus goods... ouch! I'll keep an eye out.

I could swear once upon a time I saw some shim adapter that allowed the standard one to be used on .625 barrels but damned if I could find anything.
    Gettin' down innagrass.

That's what I was really expecting to find! I was thinking about going as far to ask a machine shop to make a collar with a .625" ID and .750" OD to interface between the barrel and the sling swivel mount.
