I've used Speer Gold Dot SB in my 340sc and 638 for years now. The rounds are made for short barrels and have reduced recoil.

Uni-vibe, how often are you going to go up against six perps at once?

Agreed... not too many of us are John Wick.

I carry two or three reloads off duty, depending on the day. But my needs are a little different than a regular civilian.

I figure if I need more than five rounds, what I really need is a fast pair of tennis shoes.

To his defense, i live not far from Detroit and the animals run in packs (I assume other areas are similar), so I believe what he is getting at. My j-frames are back ups to higher capacity guns for that reason.

And the murder rate in my small home town is worse per capita than Detroit and Chicago - 15 times higher than the national average. I still think five is enough.
Doesn't bother me though, if someone else wants more.

Indeed. And there's a 9mm carbine in the car, 30 rounds.

I've carried the same 442 for over 20 years. I will not consider a Ruger or any smaller .380 a gun for serious defensive use. YMMV

That's why eastern coppers carried multiple guns and did a New York reload.

If you carry a j frame, better carry three of them.

Or carry LCP and a couple spare mags. And stay alive.
I like the combo of a revolver and back up pocket pistol or two revolvers.

Because a reload with an LCP is more possible than a wheel gun in a "short range death match" or entanglement?

    Moon clips, speed loaders?

or worst comes to worse I have a hell of a nasty knife on me.
