    Westworld- HBO Series 2016

    Ran across this a couple days ago, probably one of the most unique TV shows I've run across.
    New episode airs at 9:00 tomorrow. Season just started, so you can probably catch the first episode earlier in the day.

    Overall premise-
    It's like Jurassic park meets iRobot/Automata meets the current virtual reality craze.
    Some techies and scientists have created a live action Western town for people to come in have a Western "storyline experience", or pretty much do anything (guess which way that usually goes....), using extremely lifelike androids. Except the androids don't know they're not real, and a new set of updates (as well as some other random happenings) seems to have created a bit of a singularity effect in the robots....

    Maybe it was late, or I was just tired, but I was totally hooked, and can't stop thinking about it, so here's a heads up for any other interested folks.

    So far this one is actually pretty cool.

    JB, you do know this is based on a film of the same name that came out in the 70s right?

    It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

    Chuck, we miss ya man.

    Yul Brynner was pretty scary as the western heavy in the original.

    I have been watching this;
    Do you think Ed Harris's character is goading on the androids by subjecting them to violence and trauma to initiate a memory of past events?
    I have this feeling...

    Watched the first episode last night and thought it was really good. I'm aware of the movie but have never seen it.

    This will hold me over until GoT starts but it may have to get paused for TWD.

    Only criticism, needs more boobs. Just sayin'

    I've caught the first two episodes on HBO's App and the show definitely has my attention. Ed Harris' character is really intriguing, as is Anthony Hopkins' and Evan Rachel Wood's. Harris just plays a damned fine bad guy... The whole "maze" thing (to not give away too much) is very interesting.
