    50 rounds of NATO 9mm and a M17.

I also have a M9 and a Colt O1918. I know it’s not the greatest collection of US military sidearms, but I enjoy owning what I have.

Nice, commercial version or a surplus one? I have a surplus one and am impressed with the accuracy.

Congratulations on a great choice! I recently picked up a P320 X Compact LNIB, haven't had time to shoot it yet.

It’s the Commemorative M17, the ammo is legit.

In terms of the ammo- how is it different from the Winchester 9mm NATO? Who makes it?

M882 is the US Army's legacy ammo for the M9 and all other 9mm weapons (M11 and MP-5).

The Army tested, spec'ed, and buys M1152 115-grain FMJ and M1153 147-grain JHP for the M17 and M18.

The Army still has and buys M882 by the train load. Most units and users don't know the difference or even of the existence of the new pistol ammo.

    I have a GO issued m9.
Got it from an estate for a retired major general in the reserves.

    Interesting guy....

A Palestinian Christian who was a student in the 60s in California...and he got drafted ...
He knew Sir Hahn Sir Hahn..

Did a tour in Vietnam and then did military intelligence during Yom Kippur.

Then reserves for much of his life.

Kids and family were anti military so I got his pistol for cheap.

I believe in peace, love and extremely violent weapons systems... just in case that whole peace-and-love thing doesn't work out.

That is great info sir- thank you.
Is the Winchester NATO even issued then, in any branch?

M882 like the box in the original post? Absolutely.

If we were to supply any of our allies we know it'll work if their weapons are held to NATO Standardization Agreement (STANAG) common specs.

WCC headstamp comes from the Olin, Illinois plant while WMA comes from the Winchester Military Ammunition plant in Mississippi.
