    Glock 19X sales

According to Glock's Facebook page, the G19X has sold over 100,000 units in six months which has apparently exceeded sales expectations. Think they've recouped their expenses from the MHS competition?

If I was to hazard a guess, I'd say that the G19X has left guns like the Beretta APX and FN 509 in the dust (not that they aren't good designs in their own right).

    I agree.

    Although, to be honest,
I am not a huge fan of full sized grip, compact sized slide guns.

I have handled several types over the past few decades. I like full sized, I like compact, but if I am going to be carrying a full sized grip I like a full sized slide.

Tons of people seem to prefer it though.

Right there with you, not sure what the allure is. A 17 slide on a 19 frame would be tits.

Primarily for police who don't need the longer slide poking into their seat or thigh while they're sitting in their cars. FN has been doing this for years. More control with more rounds.

Long slide pistols with shortened grips have never sold well. They are more difficult to control, balance is off and recoil more pronounced. But a pistol with a standard size grip and a shortened slide always sells well. In fact, a shortened slide 17 should been the second model released, immediately following on the heels of the introduction of the first Glock 17.

But why? What’s the benefit of a longer sight radius on a combat handgun? It’s still only as accurate as the person squeezing the trigger, no?

Exactly! Glock could call it the 19Z.
